Yesterday's run has left me hobbling round like an old woman. I thought running was supposed to be good for you!

I have been told that I should have done some stretches right after the run, in order to reduce the DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Thanks for waiting until now to tell me this, guys!

From what I have read, DOMS is caused by the body making adaptations to better prepare the muscles to do the activity again. So, in theory, it gets less painful the more you exercise? Let's hope so! That said, it is a strangely rewarding feeling... but, next time, I will definitely be doing lots of stretches post-run.
